Sometimes, you just need to get away from it all. Whether you’re stressed out from long weeks at work or could just use a change of scenery, a long weekend away from your everyday life can help you relax, recharge, and refresh, returning home after just a few days feeling like a brand-new person. Block Island, Rhode Island
While some of us are lucky enough to have a swimming pool in our very own building, like the residents of 555Ten, Block Island offers the perfect destination for the avid swimmer without the benefit of a pool at home. Just three hours from Boston by car, this quaint Rhode Island town offers the perfect slow pace that lends itself to relaxation, with plenty of beaches and farms to explore, but none of the crowds or traffic you’ll find in other vacation destinations.
If you want to keep your travel time short but still want a vacation, Cape Cod is the perfect place to get away from it all. It takes just over an hour to get to Cape Cod from Boston, and there’s so much to do once you arrive. Take a bike ride along the Scusset Beach State Reservation, hike through Nickerson State Park, check out the gorgeous plant life at the Heritage Museums and Gardens, or grab some local fare at The Skipper Restaurant & Chowder House, a Cape Cod institution that’s been serving customers for over 80 years.
Head up to the Green Mountains and treat yourself to a holiday weekend in Stowe.
